What’s the best bar in town?

• There’s like 8 bars in Sackville, which is pretty impressive given the size…
• The Tantramarsh Pub on campus is the happenin’ spot. It’s mostly chill during the week and Saturday night is a really good time at the pub.
• Ducky’s is where you just chill, have a beer and listen to some good music.
• If you want to see a live show, you go to George’s Roadhouse.
• If you’re looking for some skin, you go to Patio’s.
• Friends that live off campus can be a valuable asset too if you want a change of scene for a party instead of a bar.

Responsible vs. Irresponsible drinking.

• When you’re no longer in charge of your actions it’s irresponsible.
• Going out to get plastered shouldn’t be your goal.
• We’re not saying don’t have a good time, just do it in a way where you don’t wake up in the morning and say: “damn it, what did I do?”
• It doesn’t pay off in the long run. You want to spend the money while you’re there, but when you wake up broke and hung over the next day, it’s not such a good idea anymore.
• When the room starts spinning and you keep drinking, that’s irresponsible.
• Drinking isn’t an excuse if you did something wrong. You’re responsible for your actions no matter what.
• When you think you’re being responsible and you’re drinking, you’re probably not.

Tips for a safe night out drinking.

• Drink with friends. Stick together.
• Make sure somebody around that’s going to be sober (or a lot less drunk) and they can take care of you.
• The great thing about Sackville is that it’s so small you usually don’t need cab fare, you can walk pretty much anywhere.
• Walk in a group.
• Leave the debit card at home. Take out your limit for drinks and don’t bring any extra (except for emergency cab fare).
• Don’t drink on an empty stomach.
• Don’t drink the mixed drinks at a house party. Bring your own beer.
• Make sure your friends know what your plans are.

Stupid things you do while drunk.

• The written word doesn’t do these stories justice. Trust me. Stupid things happen, and usually they’re done by you if you’re drunk.

What’s the worst that could happen?

• You could get expelled.
• You could hurt yourself.
• Alcohol poisoning.
• Wake up next to somebody you don’t know.
• Get taken to the drunk tank.
• Things can definitely go wrong when you drink too much.
